Cohen's d
0.598
Medium effect (Cohen: 0.2 small, 0.5 medium, 0.8 large).
Hedges' g
0.5905
corrected for small samples
Glass's Δ
0.5631
uses the control group's SD
Pooled SD

Working
The benchmarks are rough guides; what counts as a meaningful effect depends on the field.
The mean, standard deviation, and number of participants for the treatment and control (or any two) groups.
The difference between the means in pooled standard deviations, with Cohen's small, medium, and large labels.
Use Hedges' g for small samples (under about 20 per group), and Glass's Δ when the groups' SDs differ a lot.
Cohen's rough benchmarks are 0.2 small, 0.5 medium, and 0.8 large. A d of 0.5 means the group means are half a standard deviation apart.
Hedges' g multiplies d by a small correction, 1 − 3/(4(n₁ + n₂) − 9), because d slightly overestimates the effect in small samples. For large samples they're nearly identical.
A p-value says whether an effect is likely real, not how big it is. With a large enough sample, even a trivial difference is significant, so APA style asks for effect sizes alongside p-values.
