You need at least 2,400 × 3,000 px (7.2 megapixels).

300 DPI is the usual standard for photos and documents viewed up close. 150–200 is generally fine for posters and large prints viewed from a distance. Screens ignore DPI entirely.
No. DPI is only a note in the file telling printers and layout apps how big to print it; the pixels stay exactly the same. To really add or remove detail, you have to resize the image.
Many cameras, phones, and apps write 72 DPI by default, or no DPI at all. It doesn't mean low quality — what matters for print is the pixel count.
